During the opening stages of the Battle of Germantown, Continental soldiers from Pennsylvania confronted elite British light infantry as they began their attack on the British Army. Recognizing the British unit responsible for the Paoli massacre, the Pennsylvanians were heard to say "Have at the Bloodhounds, avenge the Wayne affair!" The nickname stuck...
In honor of the "Bloodhounds," we crafted the Bloodhound Brown, an English brown ale brewed with 5 different types of grains, including rye. The result is a delicious, malty ale that tastes like raisin rye biscuits with a side chocolate and caramel.
