Anti-Harassment & Anti-Discrimination Policies
Attic Brewing Company has a no-tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment for brewery employees and customers.
The Company cannot and will not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct of any kind based upon race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, affectional preference, pregnancy, genetic information, age, national origin, marital status, citizenship, military or veterans’ status, non-job- related disability or other classification protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
Moreover, the Company cannot and will not tolerate physical contact, of a sexual nature or otherwise, that has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.
Harassment is defined as unwelcome or unsolicited verbal or physical conduct which interferes with an individual’s work performance or which creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment.

Harassing conduct includes, but is not limited to:

Verbal (for example, bullying, insults, put-downs, derogatory comments or jokes, or negative stereotyping).

Physical (for example, threatening, intimidating or hostile acts).

Visual (for example, displaying derogatory posters, cartoons, drawings or making derogatory gestures).

Online (for example, derogatory statements or sexually suggestive postings in any social media platform including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.).
This list is illustrative only, and not exhaustive. No form of harassment will be tolerated.
Harassment is prohibited both at the workplace and at employer-sponsored events.
Attic Brewing Company employees have the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal employment opportunities and is free from discriminatory practices, including, without limitation, harassment. All employees are required to respect the rights of their co- workers and customers.
If you believe you have been the object of harassment, please report the incident to your supervisor or a member of the management team. Please see the following pages for how to file a report. Every reported incident of harassment will be promptly and thoroughly investigated with the cooperation of the employee and the full support of the management team, and appropriate action shall be taken, up to and including termination of employment.
The Company expressly prohibits any form of retaliation against any employee for filing a bona fide complaint under this policy, or for assisting or participating in a complaint investigation. If an employee feels he/she has been retaliated against, the employee should talk to a member of the Management Team.
However, if after investigating any complaint of harassment or unlawful discrimination, the Company determines that the employee has intentionally provided false or misleading information regarding the complaint, corrective action may be taken against the individual who filed the complaint or who gave the false or misleading information.
Sexual Harassment

All Attic Brewing Company employees, other workers and representatives (including vendors, customers, patrons and visitors) are prohibited from harassing employees and other covered persons based on that individual's sex or gender (including pregnancy and status as a transgender, transsexual, or nonbinary individual) and regardless of the harasser's sex or gender.

Sexual harassment means any harassment based on someone's sex or gender. It includes harassment that is not sexual in nature (for example, offensive remarks about an individual's sex or gender, or not using an individual’s name or appropriate pronoun), as well as any unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors or any other conduct of a sexual nature.

Attic Brewing Company will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, regardless of whether it is:

Verbal (for example, epithets, derogatory statements, slurs, sexually- related comments or jokes, unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors).

Physical (for example, assault or inappropriate physical contact).

Visual (for example, displaying sexually suggestive posters cartoons or drawings, sending inappropriate adult-themed gifts, leering or making sexual gestures).

Online (for example, derogatory statements or sexually suggestive postings in any social media platform including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.).

Reporting Harassment

Everyone at Attic Brewing Company has the right to work in an atmosphere where they are physically and emotionally safe. If you feel unsafe or believe you have been the victim of harassment, please report it immediately.

To report harassment, you can speak to any of the owners or managers directly and ask to speak privately.

You can also submit your experience in writing, via email or a written letter to one of the co-founders or taproom manager.

All reports of harassment will be taken seriously and investigated. They will be kept confidential, except as necessary to share with other members of the management team. Attic Brewing Company’s management team will investigate the report thoroughly to determine the appropriate response. If anyone has been found to violate our anti-harassment policy, they will be disciplined, up to and including termination of employment.

At all times, including during our investigation, it is our priority as a company to ensure that everyone gets to come to work and feel safe.
